After 9 rounds in the 2014 WMF Formula GT Championship, 4 men have the chance to become the first ever FGTC champion.

The four drivers are:

- Jodie Hill, #12, South Africa, AMI, Inc. / A-B Motorsports, 161 points, 3 wins

- Tomas Meilutis, #16, Lithuania, Axion Motorsports, 155 points (-6), 3 wins

- Jonathan Ledecky, #22, United States, Winged Eagle Racing, 150 points (-11), 3 wins

- Michael Bootsma, #5, United States, Axion Motorsports, 139 points (-22), 2 wins, 2 fastest laps

While Meilutis and Ledecky race in Group 1, Hill and Bootsma race in Group 2.

What they need to win the championship?

Jodie Hill
- If he wins the race, no matter what, he wins the championship
- If he finishes in 2nd place, Ledecky and Meilutis MUST NOT win.
- If he finishes in 3rd place, he wins the championship if he scores the fastest lap and Meilutis finishes 2nd. Also, if this happens, Ledecky MUST NOT win the race.

Tomas Meilutis
- If he wins the race, and Hill finishes 2nd, Meilutis will be the champion.
- If Meilutis finishes in 2nd place, Hill finishes in 3rd, and not scoring the fastest lap, and Ledecky NOT winning the race, Meilutis will be the champion.

Jonathan Ledecky
- If he wins, Hill and Meilutis must finish no better than 2nd
- If he finishes in 2nd place, Hill must finish no better than 5th, Meilutis must finish no better than 4th and Bootsma MUST NOT win, even if Ledecky scores the fastest lap.

Michael Bootsma
- Bootsma is the one who has the least chances to win:
- Bootsma needs to win the race. Hill must finish no better than 5th, Meilutis must finish no better than 4th (if Meilutis is 3rd, Bootsma needs to score fastest lap) and Ledecky must finish no better than 2nd
